Dear Sir,

Greetings from Bharati Station.
Today (21 June) is Mid Winter Day — the shortest, darkest day of the year at the bottom of the world — an event that people living in Antarctica celebrate with a long-distance fun run, gift-giving, and messages from warmer climes. It marks the point when the sun begins its return back south.

Spending a winter in Antarctica is often compared to a marathon — slow and steady wins the race back to summer and sunlight. Celebrations take place at the stations with Russian friends.

As an Antarctic Over-Winter Team Member,
I Wish all Polar Men Members in Antarctica, Friends and all dear one to
A Very Happy & Memorable Mid-Winter Day.
